Molding technology is mainly used for die cutting and indentation of various types of cardboard, and can also be used for die cutting and indentation processing of leather, plastic and other materials.

Molding operation is simple, low cost, low investment, good quality, quick effect, can greatly improve the quality of processed products, improve the added value of product packaging plays an important role. These characteristics of the molding process make it more and more widely used in the forming and processing of various types of printed cardboard, and have become an indispensable and important technology for the forming and processing of printed cardboard.

I. Product Classification and Features

At present, the products using the moulding process are mainly various kinds of paper containers. Paper containers mainly refer to cartons and cartons (all of which are folded and joined by cardboard). It is difficult to completely separate the two. However, people are often accustomed to the size of the container, the thickness of the cardboard, and the content of the packaged product. The nature, the complexity of the structure of the container, and whether the pattern is normative.

The carton can be divided into two major categories: folding carton and paste carton according to the characteristics of its processing and forming.

Folding cartons are made from various kinds of cardboard or coloured small corrugated cardboard. During the production, the main process of printing, surface processing, die-cutting indentation, box making and other work processes, the plane unfolding structure is composed of contour cutting lines and indentation lines, and die-cutting calendar technology, molding is its main Process characteristics. This kind of carton requires high quality of die-cutting indentation, so the specification size is strict, so the die-cutting calendar mark is one of the key processes of the carton making process and is the basis for guaranteeing the quality of the carton.

The paste carton is made by pasting and gluing the substrate cardboard with a veneer material. In the molding of the substrate board, a molding process is sometimes required.

The corrugated paperboard is made of corrugated paperboard. When it is processed, it is usually cut with a disc-type paper knife, and the fold line is rolled out with a roller. However, die-cutting indentation is also an effective production method, especially for some non-linear contoured structures and functional structures, such as unequal heights of inside and outside swing covers, and handle holes, vent holes, and window openings, etc. Only molding methods are used to facilitate molding.

Second, the principle of molding

Prior to molding, the steel plate (ie, die cutter) and copper wire (ie, wire cutter) or steel mold should be used to form a die-cutting indentation plate (abbreviated as die plate) according to product design requirements. On the machine, under the action of pressure, the cardboard blank is rolled and formed into a fold line or other die. Molded plate structure and working principle shown in Figure 13-1.

Steel knife rolling is a physical process of shearing; steel wires or steel molds are used for pressure deformation of the blank; rubber is used to make the finished product or waste easily separated from the cutting edge; Similar to the chopping board. According to the different materials used in the pad version, die cutting can be divided into soft cut method and hard cut method.
