3. Size and splicing quality
The core strip of the blockboard should have the appropriate thickness, width and length.

The thickness of the blockboard can only be guaranteed by adjusting the thickness of the core. Before pressing the blockboard, the thickness of the core can be estimated by a rough calculation. The calculation of the slab during compression should also be considered. Generally, the size of the board after press-bonding is about 95% of the original slab size.
The width of the blockboard core strip shall not exceed 3 times its thickness for general purpose blockboard; the blockboard with high quality requirements shall not exceed 20mm. The core strip is too wide and severely deformed, which affects the quality of the final product.
In the production, the quality of the slats of the blockboard core and the quality of the splicing have a great influence on the quality of the blockboard. For the core condition itself, cracks longer than 200 mm are not allowed, and blunt edges, severe decay, and resin leakage are not allowed. If the diameter of the hole on the core strip is more than 10mm, it must be filled with wood of the same tree type or filled with putty to ensure the firm bonding of the board and the core strip. When the core strips are spliced, the distance between the two end seams in the longitudinal direction of the two rows of core strips shall not be less than 50 mm. The gap between the core strips shall not be greater than 1 mm at the end of the blockboard, and shall not be greater than 3 mm at the side.
