Green Printing Becomes a New Direction for Packaging Industry

The conformity assessment of green printing products has become an inevitable choice for packaging printing enterprises to practice environmental protection concepts and provide high-quality environmental protection products. The Directorate General coordinates the relevant departments and, in accordance with international practice, has perfected the way of conformity assessment. Enterprises can voluntarily choose third-party certification or self-declaration. At present, there are 716 enterprises in the country that have passed the environmental labeling product certification and the certification standards have been publicized throughout the industry. The first batch of green printing series industry standards have also been drafted. The green printing self-declaration platform has been basically completed and is undergoing testing. There are 13 green printing testing centers or laboratories in the country. The country has organized many environmental quality inspections for printed products. The field of green packaging printing is gradually expanding. The green printing pilot project for primary and secondary school textbooks was a complete success, and the green printing of ticket documents was steadily progressing. The green printing of video medicine packaging, which is generally concerned by printing companies and the people, is about to be piloted. A total of 82 international printing demonstration companies have been identified and cultivated to fully play their role in radiation guidance in green development.

Traditional printing achieves the goal of increasing efficiency, saving energy and reducing consumption through digital technology. By standardizing and digitizing ERP, CIP3, and MIS on traditional printing, production efficiency has been greatly improved, raw material losses have been reduced, and even some businesses have achieved zero inventory. Internet thinking recreates the printing industry chain, innovates the business model of online printing, and enhances the commercial value of print processing, system services, and creative design. According to statistics, more than 5% of the traditional printing companies in China use the Internet as a printing service platform. The total business volume of printing companies using Internet platforms is close to 30 billion yuan, accounting for about 3% of the country's total printing revenue. At present, there are more than 100 professional e-commerce websites in China. Digitalization and networking have become an important feature of green printing implementation.

The printing industry is not a big polluter and it is the responsibility of the government to actively implement the national environmental protection strategy. Green printing has become a continuous action to reduce energy consumption and reduce emissions. According to estimates, the growth rate of environmental ink usage in 2013 was 1.6 times that of ordinary ink; the use of pre-coating film has accounted for nearly 30% of the total amount of film, an increase of about 5% over the previous year; the environment-friendly paper cutter Compared with ordinary paper cutters, the drive motor power is reduced by 50%; 96% of newspaper printing companies installed CTP equipment, compared with the previous year, the use of film reduced by about 12%, waste liquid emissions decreased by about 6%.
