Here are the safety traps in the crib
Is your baby's bed safe? Go to check your baby's bed and see if the seven traps below are filled.
Trap one: fence
Safety hazards: The baby's head bones are relatively soft. If the barriers are too far apart, baby's head may get in and be trapped between the two fences.
When you are ready to purchase a crib, you can carry a ruler with you and measure the distance between the fences of the cribs and ensure that the space between them is 4.5 cm to 6.5 cm in order to be able to buy them at ease.
Trap 2: mattress
Security risks: Suffocation, mattresses trapped in cribs must absolutely fit the size of the crib. Too small mattresses are easy to move and may cause gaps along the bed. Excessive gaps can cause baby's arms or legs to fall into it. The baby's arms, legs, and face are buried in soft cushions that can cause it to become trapped and even suffocate.
Defense preparation
1, push the mattress to the end of the bed, check whether the remaining gap is more than 4 cm, if you can put two fingers between the mattress and the edge of the bed, it shows that the mattress is too small.
2. Regularly check the support system of the baby mattress. Any hook that is not in the proper position must be repaired or replaced.
The hooks and bedplates supporting the mattress should be securely embedded in the grooves by the safety clips.
Note: The baby should not be placed on any soft surface. Water beds, cloth pockets containing beans, and wrinkles and crevices on soft, loose surfaces can trap air around the baby's face and impede the baby's breathing.
Trap three: rope
Safety hazards: Straps that are bundled and suffocated may get entangled in your baby's body. If you accidentally tie your neck, there is a danger of suffocation.
Defense preparation
1. If your baby's bed is tied to a bumper, note that the straps that are out of the bumper are cut and trimmed to prevent the baby from chewing or becoming entangled.
2. Toys, wind accessories, pacifiers and bedding should also be inspected to ensure that there are no more than 18 cm long strings that may choke the baby.
Note: Do not install bumpers on the bed when you are able to sit up.
Trap 4: pillows, blankets, bedding and other bedding
Safety risks: Breathing, suffocating The soft bedding looks comfortable, but once the baby is hugged, it may block the head and affect breathing.
Defense preparation
1. Take quilts, pacifiers and big, soft pillows.
2. Lay the sheets and pave as much as possible, and squeeze the edges of the sheets tightly on the mattress to avoid wrinkles and hinder the baby's breathing.
