Characteristics
Compared with the outer packaging of ordinary products, the production and processing and quality monitoring of cosmetic packaging cartons have the following characteristics.
(1) There are many special processes and special materials used. A single special paper or material is easier to process, but some cosmetic packaging cartons use PVC, PET, fabric, etc. in addition to cardboard. This requires detailed testing of various materials and their processing processes before mass production to meet design requirements, while ensuring smooth production and process quality and product quality.
(2) The content of harmful substances in the materials used for cosmetics packaging (including main materials and auxiliary materials) is relatively strict, at least in accordance with ROSH certification requirements. The content of harmful substances not specified in the ROSH certification must also comply with relevant national standards, especially to ensure that the cosmetic packaging carton does not have any odor, so as not to affect the quality of the cosmetics themselves.

In order to pursue better results, cosmetic packaging cartons often use gold card paper, silver card paper or other special paper (such as pearl paper) for printing. The printing suitability and color control of the material require special attention. Before printing gold and silver cardboard, it is necessary to check whether the Darin value meets the printing requirements. If the Dyne value is high, consider corona treatment or switch to other batches of paper.
Cosmetic packaging cartons often use spot colors such as black, dark blue, real gold, and real silver for printing. To print a certain spot color, it is recommended to use 2 to 3 spot colors to achieve, for example, to reproduce a spot color. Black, you can use 2 to 3 different blacks for printing to achieve better results.
In addition, when performing spot color printing, it is necessary to manage the formulation of the spot color ink so that the chromatic aberration can be reduced when printing is repeated many times. 2. Surface finishing process
Cosmetic packaging often uses surface finishing, full-page UV glazing, over pearl varnish, partial screen printing UV glazing and other surface finishing processes. The film and full UV glazing process need to pay attention to the amount of powder. If the amount of powder is too large, use a clean cotton cloth to gently sweep across the surface of the printing paper to remove some excess powder to avoid small filming. White spots or bubbles.
Do not use the film when covering the film and the side of the printing gauge; if partial UV glazing is required after lamination, it is recommended to place the position of the local UV glazing near the mouth and the gauge during the pre-printing. The position of the UV glazing may be appropriately reduced or enlarged, depending on the degree of acceptance of the specific customer.
3. Hot stamping, pressing concave and convex, die cutting and indentation process
In the production process of cosmetic packaging cartons, printing, laminating, and glazing papers often need to be stamped on bright film, matte film or water-based varnish, and occasionally need to be stamped on the surface of UV varnish. In this case, pay attention to the tightness of the hot stamping text (test tape can be used for testing).
The edge of the hot stamping image should be clear, there should be no burrs, and the small parts should not be hot or leaky. To apply hot stamping on the surface of UV varnish, it is recommended not to UV varnish at the location where hot stamping is required; for cosmetic packaging cartons full of UV glazing, it is recommended to perform the hot stamping process and then UV glazing. The hot stamping foil used at the time must be high in firmness and not easy to lose gold. For the control of the hot stamping position, it is recommended to place it near the cornice and the gauge.
Some cosmetic packaging cartons need to be pressed and embossed after hot stamping. When making the embossed plate, the outer edge of the embossed plate can be appropriately reduced by 0.3 mm. The bottom plate of the embossed plate mainly has a copper plate and a resin plate. The durability of the copper plate is high, but the new copper plate is easy to crush the paper if the edge is too sharp; the durability of the resin plate is not high, but the edge is smooth, and it is difficult to crush the paper. Pay attention to the replacement of the resin plate in time.
Die-cutting indentation is an important part of product molding. The design of the previous carton structure will have a direct impact on the smooth operation of this process. In the case of ensuring that it is not in the form of a plate, the connection point of the die-cut version (also called "water nozzle") should be as small as possible. After die-cutting and indentation, the cut-off should be smooth and tidy. Do not have paper wool and shredded paper. The fold line should be easily folded to facilitate product molding.
Cosmetic packaging cartons use white cardboard to make small packaging. When the white cardboard is too much water dispersion, the fold line is prone to cracks after die-cutting, and it is easy to break, especially in the north where the climate is relatively dry. Wrap the product with a film to reduce water loss.
4. Manual processing
Many cosmetic packaging cartons with unique shapes and complex decorations must be hand-formed to make them final. The advantage of manual processing is diversity and flexibility, but for quality monitoring, there are many uncontrollable factors. Therefore, in the manual processing, on-site control is essential.
First of all, the production environment should be clean and try to be done in the GMP clean room. Before production, we must do a good job of 5S management on site, clean the production site, operation table, adhesive equipment, fixtures, etc., especially the operation table, can not have adhesive particles, dirt, etc., so as not to affect product quality. There should be no impurities in the adhesive, especially if there is no small adhesive granules. Try to use a new open-mouth adhesive or use a washing net to filter the adhesive. The operator must bring a cap to wrap the hair so that the hair does not fall into the product; do not wear earrings or necklaces, just to prevent it from falling into the product; do not wear a ring, do not leave long nails to avoid scratching Product; if possible, wear gloves and expose your fingers for easy handling.
In the manual operation, try to form the assembly line operation, reduce the possibility of the product being damaged during the handling process; each station should pay attention to the details, minimize the scratches, and try to smooth the paper and cardboard when the paste is prepared, and do not appear bubbles or wrinkles. If PVC sheets are used, it is recommended to use a thinner copy paper to separate each sheet after die-cutting. When bonding PVC, try to use gloves to avoid scratching the sheet or leaving a hand on the sheet. Fingerprint; if there is cloth material as the inner support of the package, be careful when handling, try not to let the cloth stick to the adhesive; if the box uses double magnets, be sure to match the positive and negative poles of the magnet to avoid The box cannot be closed after molding.
After the cosmetic packaging carton is finished, it is necessary to dehumidify the formed box to reduce the influence of the adhesive on the deformation of the box. The dehumidified cosmetic packaging carton is recommended to be placed in a ventilated workshop for a period of time to remove the taste of the adhesive or other materials.
For cosmetic packaging cartons that are ready to be packaged after molding, it is recommended to use a copy paper package or a non-odor-free PE or PP bag to reduce the damage caused to the cosmetic packaging carton during handling and transportation.
