Sweeping gold is a special process in fine prints. Special metal powders are attached to designated parts of commodity packaging or label prints to realize gold glitter effect.
How to sweep gold? After multi-color printing production, gold-plated prints are obtained, and the printed sheets that need to be swept into fine prints are transferred to a monochrome or two-color offset printing press. The adhesive-backed ink is printed on the parts that need to be swept gold, and then transferred directly. To the sweeper, the special gold powder was pressed into the primer to complete the sweep. If the printing manufacturer owns a multicolor printing press and a UV drying device, on-line gold scanning can be performed. That is, the printing sheets are printed in the first few colors of the multicolor printing machine and fully dried by the UV device, and then in the last color. The group was coated with adhesive bottom ink and then connected to the gold sweeper for gold scan. In the above situation, when there is no need to sweep gold, the gold sweeping equipment can be separated from the printing press within a few minutes, so that the printing press can be printed normally.
Sweeping gold has its unique advantages when compared with other fine prints.
As a widely used process, printing gold and gilding have many advantages, but there are also some deficiencies. For example, the gravure printing machine has a high printing speed, but the deformation is relatively serious when printing small characters and thin lines, and the metal texture is not strong enough when printing large areas of gold; gilding, as a traditional process, has a strong sense of metal, but its energy consumption is relatively high. High, relatively low efficiency, registration is difficult, very small graphics and a large area of ​​bronzing, the quality is not easy to control. The gold-sweeping process has relatively simple operation, high production speed, low cost, and can obtain finer results regardless of the pattern thickness and area size. At the same time, there is no environmental pollution due to the fully enclosed working method. In fact, the combination of gold sweeping and gilding can often achieve better results.

A flat-sheet two-color offset press is usually required to connect with the sweeper. The Dreissig 2500 Gold Scanner has designed a new fold-over single-sheet feeder that can be easily unfolded and stowed. When the two need to be online, spread the sheet feeder; when the two-color offset printer needs to print other products separately, the single sheet conveyor can be retracted. We used the color separation film of the printed product to create a PS plate for the gold-sweeping machine, and installed it on the offset printing press. By adjusting the rules of the offset printing machine, we can easily complete the registration work. Use a PS plate to print a layer of thin, uniform, viscous ink (commonly known as "sweeping gold") at the point where the print product requires gold dust.
The prints with viscous inks are sent to the aspirating rubber conveyor belt of the gold sweeping part through the sweeper passer. The coating device consists of a powder filling machine, an applicator, a uniform roller and a coating roller. The coating roller rotates slowly. Because the roller is equipped with a new type of automatic ventilation device, when the side of the applicator roller that adsorbs gold powder turns to the top of the paper, the part turns from inhalation to blowing, and evenly sprays the gold powder on the paper. The entire surface. The new Dreissig 2500 gold sweeper uses four special polishers. The surface of the polisher rubs and polishes the gold powder on the paper so that the gold powder printed on the paper with the sticky ink part firmly adheres. The Dreissig 2500 gold sweeper also uses four special sheet metal belts. The four special sheet metal belts are turned in opposite directions. The two rear belts have powerful suction pipes, so they can cleanly and quickly clear excess paper. Gold powder.
The average consumption of gold powder can be calculated as follows:
Assuming that the density of the gold is normally used, that is, the area of ​​the sweep is about 10% of the total area of ​​the paper; about 0.2 g of primer must be printed on each sheet, that is, about 1000 grams of the primer is needed. About 4 grams of gold powder adheres to each gram of primer and about 800 grams of gold powder to 1000 sheets. If the sweeper speed is 6000 sheets/hour, about 1.2 kilograms of primer and 4.8 kilograms of gold powder will be consumed in one hour. The effective working time for each working day is calculated on the basis of 7 hours. Then, 42,000 sweeps can be made per working day (6,000 sheets/hour x 7 hours), which consumes approximately 8.4 kilograms of primer and 34 kilograms of gold powder.
Due to the gold coating process, the whole sheet is coated with gold powder by means of a coating roller. In this case, 68 kg of gold powder is used. The excess gold powder is recycled by the central filter, mixed with the same amount of new gold powder, and recycled by the gold powder manufacturer after 5-7 times of reuse. In this case, the first investment was about 68 kg of gold powder, mixed with 2% of auxiliary washing, and then the production volume in 7 working days was: 42000 sheets/working day×7 working days=294,000 sheets. Consumption on the first working day: 10 marks/kg (average price) × 68 kg = 680 marks. Consumption from the second to the seventh working day: 10 marks/kg × 34 kg/working day × 6 working days = 2040 marks. A total of about 2,720 marks was spent on gold powder in seven working days.
In foreign countries, many printing companies use multiple shifts to make full use of new sweepers and have achieved significant economic benefits. In China, compared with other fine print technologies, the possession of sweepers is relatively small and there is little market competition. Therefore, the pressure on the market price is very small, together with the unique anti-counterfeiting effect and advertising effect of the gold sweep product, enabling the customer to accept a certain range of price differences; in addition to the relatively low cost of sweeps. Therefore, printing manufacturers can obtain higher profits.
