Japan has developed a new type of degradable fiber-reinforced plastic

Japan's Chiba University of Technology professor Takeshi Takeshi used sisal leaf instead of glass fiber to make biodegradable fiber-reinforced plastic. This new type of plastic is very strong and can be used to make parts for products such as home appliances and automobiles.
According to reports in the Japanese news media, sisal, also known as tequila, is native to Mexico. Its leaf fibers are soft and water resistant. The sisal leaves are broken into pieces of millimeters long and mixed with a degradable plastic polyester resin to make a fiber-reinforced plastic. General fiber-reinforced plastics are composite materials composed of glass fiber, carbon fiber and synthetic resin, which are difficult to recycle and reuse, and cause environmental pollution.
According to experts, biodegradable fiber-reinforced plastic made from sisal leaves has the advantages of high strength, low cost, no pollution, and easy molding. (gratifying)
