1. Propellants are the energy source of aerosol products. In addition to medicinal/medical aerosols and some essential uses, China has banned the use of CFCs as aerosol propellants since December 31, 1997. At present, LPG and DME are mainly used as propellants, and a few products use compressed gas and HFC-152a and HFC-134a.
China's aerosol-grade LPG comes from two sources: natural gas purification and refining and petroleum pyrolysis gas refining. The supplier of purified natural gas is represented by Zhongyuan Oilfield. The aerosol grade LPG production capacity reaches 20,000 tons/year. Another LPG is derived from petroleum cracked gas via desulfurization, hydrogenation and rectification. Among them, Shanghai CAL Company has the best product quality with an annual output of 10,000 tons.
China produces a lot of methanol, and DME has received attention as one of the outlets for methanol. From Zhongshan in the south, from Suzhou in Shanghai to Chengdu in the west, there are DME production plants with a national production capacity of more than 20,000 tons, of which Zhongshan Kaida and Suzhou Wu Yue are the most valued. Both DuPont and Akzo Nobel have collected the products of these two companies. After analysis in the United States and the Netherlands, the DME content, impurities, and methanol and water content of the two companies' products have reached international standards.
So far, China has no aerosol propellants that use expensive propellants such as HFC-152a, but at least four companies in Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Shandong have produced such propellants that are not listed as VOCs. The country’s production capacity is 6000 tons, of which the production capacity of Hangzhou Fushite Chemical Co., Ltd. is 3,000 tons and the product purity is 99.95%.
2. Containers Tinplate aerosol cans account for approximately 80% of Chinese aerosol containers. China has a large number of tinplate aerosol can manufacturing enterprises, which are particularly concentrated in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Haihe River Delta in coastal areas. The representative of the tinplate aerosol can producer is Hangzhou Zhongliang Meite Container Co., Ltd. COFCO Meteor is the largest and most modern manufacturer of tinplate aerosol cans in China. It is a joint venture between China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Import & Export (Group) Co.
Ten years ago, due to the tight supply of aluminum cans by mousse, some companies were busy introducing aluminum can production lines to expand production. However, when these new lines were completed and put into production, the mousse landscape was no longer altogether, and aluminum can manufacturers were somewhat deserted. China's aluminum cans production lines are mainly concentrated in Guangdong and Shanghai. Guangdong has seven introduction lines, among which the production line of Chaoyang Oriental is the most advanced and the production environment is the most clean and elegant; there are four production lines in Shanghai, among which the new aluminum can production line of Xinya Jinshan has its own characteristics. The printing, inner coating, sealing, pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance of the products have reached international standards, filling the gaps in the lack of small-diameter aluminum aerosol cans in China.
Some companies have developed PET containers as containers for aerosol products such as oxygen cans, insecticides, and mineral water. Although they are not used in large quantities and are not used in large quantities, they are highly characteristic and worthy of study. (To be continued)
