A solution to the knife cost of the slitting section of corrugated board production line

The slitting section (slicing) is an important part of the corrugated board production line. Most of the following two major problems exist.

(1) The cutting knife wears too fast and requires frequent tool change, and the cost of purchasing a round knife is too high.

(2) When the round knife is changed, the entire corrugated board production line needs to be shut down, which affects the production efficiency.

Most manufacturers usually adopt the following two options: First, all use inexpensive ordinary steel round knife, and second, tungsten steel round knife with long service life. The advantage of the former is that the cost of a single tool is relatively low. The disadvantage is that the tool is not wear-resistant, and the tool change is often stopped. The latter has the advantage of no need to stop the tool change. However, due to the high price of the tungsten steel round knife, the round knife is greatly increased. The purchase cost.

In view of the above situation, some manufacturers adopt a combination of tungsten steel round knife and ordinary steel round knife in actual operation, which not only reduces the purchase cost of the round knife, but also avoids frequently shutting down the tool change. So, how can we minimize the use of the tool and reduce the downtime of tool change? The author thinks that the following solutions can be taken.

The knife loading plan is shown in Fig. 1. There are 5) bar-cutting knives in the cutting part, among which the 1st, 2nd and 5th round knives are made of inexpensive ordinary steel round knives, and the 3rd and 4th round knives are made of tungsten steel round knives. . Use tungsten steel round cutters No. 3 and No. 4 as much as possible in actual production, and use No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 ordinary steel round cutters when necessary.

When the corrugated board is open two times, use No. 3 tungsten steel round knife (see Fig. 2); when corrugated board is trimmed, use No. 3 and No. 4 tungsten steel round knife (see Fig. 3); Corrugated board is opened two times and needs to be repaired On the side, use No. 2 ordinary steel round knife, No. 3 and No. 4 tungsten steel round knife (see Figure 4).

The above three kinds of situations are the most common slitting situations in the production of corrugated board. According to the above scheme, the most used tools are the No. 3 and No. 4 tungsten steel round knife. Due to the extremely long service life of the tungsten steel round knife, the maximum output can exceed 10 million meters. It does not need to be replaced frequently, which can reduce the downtime of the corrugated board production line caused by tool change. Moreover, using the above tooling plan, the use of No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 round knives has been greatly reduced, and the use of ordinary steel round knives of relatively poor quality has long use times.

The above scheme achieves the goal of reducing the total cost of the cutting tool by installing two pieces of tungsten steel tools, reducing the number of tool changes and downtime, and improving the performance of the entire cutting part. It is a better solution.
