1. Gouache features

The gouache painting is made of opaque water-soluble siliceous ad pigments, which are characterized by its brilliant colors and strong hiding power. There are two types of painting techniques: thick coating and thin coating. The thick coating method of gouache has some stacking strokes similar to oil painting. The thin painting method is similar to the watercolor painting, especially the dry brush strokes. Proper operation can often show the artistic effects of both oil painting and watercolor.

2. Gouache printing plate production requirements

The gouache is mostly used for posters and posters, and the cover design is sometimes gouache. Most of the posters use vivid colors to highlight the theme of the screen. They do not require high-quality pink texture. Do not over-pursued the characteristics of silty when copying. Just keep the gouache bright and relaxed style.

Mainly in black lines, colorful gouache originals, electronic copying can use non-color structure technology, use a lot of background color removal, black lines under the three primary colors reduce the amount of ink by 40% to 50%, the black part is replaced with 100% black . The total coverage of dark ink is Y, M30%, C40%, BK100%, ie 240%.

Colorful, light lines of gouache, copying should adopt the traditional three primary colors, ink version of the four-color process. The three primary color scales are long, and the black ones are shorter, with BK 65%. To highlight the color of the fresh, high light to bright midtones do not have the opposite color, only the basic color for the level. The basic color of high, medium and dark tone should be deeper than that required by the original, and the basic color should not be shallow.

The gouache copy should pay attention to white background and light color, and the middle mixed color and basic color level should be opened. When high-light highlighting and white background parallelism are required, the scan head is aligned with the white background, and the high steepness is used to make the net out and the distance between the two is pulled open. Mixing of the three primary colors tends to be deeper, contradicting with the basic hue, and aligning the mixed colors when the electrical points are calibrated, and reducing the dark tone level curve or increasing the dark tone setting density can be solved.

3. Gouache and Watercolor Desktop System Making Points

The cyan, magenta, and yellow color versions use extremely long tones (0% to 100%) to fully express the layer content of the painting. Using a very short height-adjusted black version, the maximum amount can be set to 75%. Open the dark tone level and emphasize the image contrast, as shown in Figure 8-1-4. After separation, if there are still many opposite colors in the bright color, you can adjust the Curves curve to “S” type to reduce or even remove the opposite color. For gouache painting, especially the color tone of the reverse color is shortened. In this way, the maximum saturation of the ink can be used to fully reflect the brilliant colors on the screen. Increasing the amount of UCA can enhance the color reproduction of the dark tone and make the dark tone more vivid.
