Commodity packaging according to its use can be divided into transport packaging (outer packaging) and sales packaging (inner packaging), they bear the protection of goods, easy storage and transportation, beautification and advertising the role of goods, so packaging is essential for the product. Producing packaging requires a lot of energy and raw materials. Western industrialized countries attach great importance to the recovery and utilization of waste packaging, such as the German tinplate recycling rate of 50%, corrugated paper recycling up to 95%, waste paper recovery rate of 78%; waste packaging recycling for the United States in the past decade has created 40 Billion dollar wealth. At the current stage, China still pays insufficient attention to the use of waste and old packaging, and the backward recycling technology and unsound system make the recycling rate of packaging materials very low. It is understood that the recycling rate of waste packaging paper in China is only 20%, and the plastics recycling rate is 30%. The packaging of medicines, cans, cosmetics and so on is almost completely abandoned. This is extremely unfavorable for our country where the per capita share of raw material resources is very low. . Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the amount of waste in the first packaging of goods; the second is to use reasonable measures to make packaging waste recycling come in handy.

First, reduce waste packaging methods

1. Multi-functional packaging If many goods packaging can be used for other purposes, it can solve the problem of abandonment. For example, the outer packaging of some German products can be changed into shelves for sale after being folded, thus reducing the waste of the packaging. Multifunctional structural design, material selection and new material development are the first considerations.

2. Development and development of alternative products New packaging materials that are easy to recycle or can be self-decomposed are effective ways to reduce packaging waste. For example, plant packaging materials can be decomposed on their own to reduce the pressure on the environment.

3. Decomposable plastics Because many kinds of plastics are difficult to decompose spontaneously in nature, their wastes cause serious environmental pollution, thus affecting the prospects of plastics as a commodity packaging. Some of the recently developed plastics that can be decomposed spontaneously in nature have brought bright prospects for their use on commodity packaging.

Second, the recycling of waste

1. Establishing and Perfecting Recovery Mechanisms Many commodity packaging such as cartons, iron drums, glass bottles, etc., can be reused after being properly treated and cleaned. However, it must first establish and improve the recycling mechanism and organization.

2. Increase the purchase price of waste packaging At present, everything has risen in price, while the recycling price of waste packaging has dropped again and again, which is not conducive to recycling.

3. Recycling of the original product restores the recovered packaging to raw materials and re-manufactures the product packaging. For example, Coca-Cola Co., Ltd. of the United States has saved more than 20% of its raw materials and energy through recycling-polymer decomposition-repolymerization processing of PET bottles and washing-sorting-pulverization-remelting processing of glass bottles.

4. Restructuring of other products Waste plastic recycling can be made into park benches, dining tables, bars, or to convert mixed plastic waste into “plastic alloys” for the production of flooring materials; waste glass can be crushed to a certain size for building materials Aluminum product waste can be made of aluminum alloy crafts, alcohol stoves and so on.

5. Energy recovery Energy recovery refers to the energy generated by the incineration of waste. Each kilogram of waste plastic can generate heat equivalent to 1 kilogram of oil, so it can be used as a power plant fuel. The reduction and use of used packaging materials is a benefit for the country and the people, which saves a lot of raw materials and energy, and reduces pollution. It should be well valued.
