U.S. launches new film for packaging ice cream

Not long ago, Ellsworth Ice Cream Company of the United States introduced frozen desserts that use the new OPP film as a packaging material. The OPP film was made from oriented polypropylene packaging material that was supplied by ExxonMobil Chemical Company. Compared with paper packaging, the new film packaging showed better performance in terms of appearance, production efficiency and moisture resistance.

Exxon Mobil Corporation specializes in film production for ice cream and has five OPP films designed for packaging frozen products. Ellsworth chose Oppalyte 278 WOS-2 as the packaging material. The opaque white film with special hollow core was treated on one side and sealed on the other side. The thickness was 1.8 mils. The film was low and compatible. The coefficient of friction is simultaneously sealed.
