Kallfass Launches Universa 400 Packaging Machine

Located near Stuttgart, Germany, Kallfass is a professional manufacturer of high-speed packaging machines. Its product design is known for its reliability, practicality and low failure rate. The company recently introduced the Universa 400, a full-automatic packaging machine for plastic film sealing. Its feed unit features a unique design of a Lenze transducer plus a gear motor, which offers extremely high positioning accuracy. 85 feeding operations are completed and the processing speed is independent of the length of the packaged object.

The Universa 400 offers a fully automated, high-speed solution for plastic film packaging and heat sealing processes. The product to be packaged is fed through a feed conveyor and placed in the center of a film that has been wrapped around under the action of a mold, thereby completing the package, and the above process is almost synchronous. Afterwards, the product is sealed in a constant temperature heat sealing system and excess film is removed by the cutter.

The Universa 400 supports a maximum package width of up to 450mm and can handle almost any product package, such as videotape, jet glue, pet food or even wooden plates (up to a few meters in length).

Many professional packaging companies want packaging machines to adapt to different packaging tasks with simple adjustments. For this reason, Universa has built a product database in particular to minimize the time required for such adjustment and ensure that the production capacity is not affected. The built-in database can store up to 250 sets of parameters for different package objects.

In the Universa 400, the feed of the film is controlled by the Lenze 8200 vector inverter, which has a power range of 0.25 to 90 kW and an overload capacity of 180% of the rated torque. The Universe also uses a Lenze helical gear motor with an incremental encoder and close loop feedback to the I/O module of the frequency converter.

Currently, 60% of Kalfass packaging machines are sold abroad, mainly including Europe and the United States. The key to its success is that they have grasped several major requirements of the packaging industry for machinery and equipment, namely: practicality, reliability and long operating life.
