The hazard of the coating process

As a finishing process for surface decoration of printed products, the film is widely used in printing and packaging industries in China. However, at present, 90% of our country's film-coating technology is still adopting the coating technology of the world in the 60s. This technology has a complicated use process and brings great harm to our environment and the body. The main performance is as follows:

1. That is, a large amount of benzene-containing solvents are used during the coating process, and benzene is a highly carcinogenic, disabling, and teratogenic substance. Due to the fact that our country still uses a highly toxic coating film process, we have a large number of printing and packaging products coated with instant coating technology in our lives, such as covers for books such as textbooks, food film packaging, and pharmaceutical coatings. Packaging, toy film packaging, beverage film packaging and so on. These residual film-covered products containing benzene solvents will continue to be in contact with people during use, and they have buried one or more dangerous time bombs in their daily lives. Its harm, especially to children, is very great. According to a study conducted by the National Cancer Institute in August 2004, children exposed to benzene for a long period of time are most likely to develop hematological diseases such as leukemia.

2. Because the use of benzene-containing solvents during the coating process is extremely harmful to the operators of the production site. At present, 99% of film-covered workers in China are women workers, and 55% of them are unmarried women workers. These female workers are prone to acute benzene poisoning and subacute benzene poisoning in the long-term work in the film-covering workshop, and are prone to produce aplastic anemia, acute leukemia, etc., which can lead to serious death. Women who are not fertile are also prone to habitual abortions or abnormal fetuses. At present, there are a number of lawsuits that cause infertility or habitual abortion in China because of filming.

The harm of benzene to human body

Benzene can be metabolized in the liver and bone marrow, while bone marrow is the site of formation of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Therefore, benzene can enter into the body to form hematologically toxic metabolites in the hematopoietic tissue. Prolonged exposure to benzene can cause bone marrow and genetic damage. Blood tests can also reveal leukocytes, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia and aplastic anemia, and even leukemia. .
3. The solvent used in the process of coating is volatile, and its process requires that the solvent is completely volatilized, thus causing great harm to the environment. At the same time, these volatile solvents can also cause significant fire and explosion hazards in the production process.
