It is understood that the national standard GB18580-2001 "modern decoration materials and their products in the formaldehyde release limit" provisions, the domestic furniture raw materials and decorative materials in the formaldehyde emission limit standard is E1, according to this standard formaldehyde release is not More than 1.5 mg / liter. However, the formaldehyde of domestic furniture products has repeatedly broken through the E1 red line.

What do the 23 pieces of furniture products exceed the standard? After observing the list of formaldehyde exceeding the standard, an industry insider in the Dongguan furniture industry said that none of the furniture companies that have been tested excessively are brand-name enterprises, most of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. These are not mainstream in the composition of the Dongguan furniture industry, and the overall quality of Dongguan furniture is still excellent.

Formaldehyde troubles linger

Although it is a small and medium-sized enterprise foul in Dongguan furniture, it is still a big shock wave for industry entrepreneurs who feel the same.

The Dongguan Jinfaya Wood Products Factory, which was detected to have exceeded the standard of formaldehyde, said yesterday that the quality inspection bureau did go to the factory for sampling and testing last year, but it may be that the sampled products were mixed with the products of other factories, resulting in their products being affected. Detection error occurs due to contamination.

“There is no one-panel furniture company that can guarantee that its products are not exceeding the standard!” Xu, a manager of an important anonymous furniture company in Houjie, told reporters that the raw materials for plate and wood furniture include MDF and particleboard. In the process of production, these plates contain formaldehyde, because the glue required for the production of furniture must contain formaldehyde. If the formaldehyde is not enough, the viscosity will be insufficient, which will also lead to unqualified furniture products, so many furniture Enterprises only have the privilege of choosing formaldehyde to exceed the standard.

The reporter interviewed General Manager Ye, the head of the company that produces furniture and environmentally friendly wood glue. General Manager Ye said that the reason why plate furniture has repeatedly encountered formaldehyde doors, in addition to the technical problems of glue, the problem is mainly on the board. “There is no mandatory standard in the country to regulate the formaldehyde content of raw materials such as MDF and particleboard in wood-based panels. Therefore, despite the breakthrough in formaldehyde content technology, most of the materials on the market are still high in formaldehyde.”
