Japan uses natural mineral dolomite to develop new antiviral materials

The research team of Japan's Tottori University's Department of Agronomy and Yonago Motor Co. announced on January 29 that they have used natural mineral dolomite to develop new materials that have significant preventive effects against viruses such as influenza.
It is reported that researchers put this new material together with viruses such as bird flu to make a 0.6% solution. After shaking for 10 minutes, the number of viruses will be reduced to less than one hundred thousandth of the original. In addition, when the medicine cloth coated with new material is placed in a virus-containing liquid for 15 minutes, the amount of virus in the liquid will be reduced to less than one ten-thousandth.
General anti-bacterial masks only use the principle of filtration to prevent the passage of harmful substances, while patients with masks coated with new materials not only can reduce the virus in the mouth, but also can resist foreign viruses.
Dolomite is a white or light-colored ore that can be used to make fertilizers, furnace refractories, construction and ceramic materials.
